Hyde Park Addition
Having decided to put an addition on my home and having no experience of the process, I went through a typical procedure.
First, I surveyed who was out there. Well, naturally, the name Sawdust Therapy caught my attention. Next step: look up reviews. Superlative. Across the board. I decided to make the call. I met Greg, and was immediately impressed. Straight shooter, expert, knowledgeable. We set about making plans. Greg, a person of boundless integrity, was a pleasure to work with. My biggest concern as construction neared was my knucklehead dog Buddy. I love the guy unconditionally, but he was used to access to the backyard at his beck and call, and construction would require temporarily removing the fence. Greg immediately came up with a solution before work on the foundation had even begun. He built a side yard for Buddy. Then work began, and I met the rest of the crew, Doug, Jerry and Andy. Remarkable. As construction continued, I sometimes had the pleasure to sit with the guys on my front porch for lunch. I enjoyed their camaraderie, expertise, creativity, skill and the pride they took in their work. And they’d show me things, big and little, as construction proceeded. Each day when I’d arrive home from teaching school, there’d be something new that they delighted in, perhaps the cool hinges on the kitchen cabinets or the manner in which the flooring was laid. I delighted in it too. One Sunday, I was lazing about on my front porch with Buddy when I heard my name called. It was Greg. He had come by to show his wife the work that had been done. Since construction concluded with an absolutely beautiful addition to my home, I’ve had my annual HVAC and termite inspection. Both technicians asked me who put on the addition. Why? Because they were both amazed at the expert, meticulous craftsmanship that went into it. They told me how lucky I was to have found Sawdust Therapy. They didn’t have to. I knew. Remarkable. Bob T. |
